About bygga.

bygga. (Swedish for “to build”) turns IKEA assembly manuals into interactive 3D guides. Instead of squinting at a line drawing and guessing which way a part faces, you can rotate the model, scrub through each movement and replay a step as many times as you need.

How the guides are made

Every guide starts from the official IKEA assembly manual for that product, and the steps follow its order. The LACK side table guide is based on manual AA-2314314-1 for article 304.499.08. Long or crowded manual pages are split into shorter steps, each showing one action and the parts it uses.

The 3D models are built from the product’s published measurements. Small hardware such as screws is drawn a little larger than life so you can see it at table scale. The parts you are working on turn red, and everything else stays white.

What it isn’t

bygga. is an independent project. It is not made, endorsed or checked by IKEA, and IKEA is a trademark of Inter IKEA Systems B.V. When in doubt, the paper manual in your box is the final word, especially for safety notes such as wall anchoring.
